Astronomy

At the Department of Astronomy, our mission is to conduct transformational research and to offer undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdocs the highest quality of education. We conduct research in diverse areas of astronomy, including exoplanets, the origins of life, and the earliest galaxies discovered by the James Webb Space Telescope. Our students come to understand observation, theory, and the construction of cutting-edge instruments for our complement of telescopes.
