In the Department of Art History, we instill the skills of visual literacy, historical and cultural attentiveness and sensitivity, and critical thinking. Our emphasis on interdisciplinary collaborations encourages broad-based cultural, economic, and ethical questions with the end goal of producing new knowledge and perspectives. Art history is uniquely situated to instill the skills required to navigate this world and to offer innovative solutions to its most challenging issues. The faculty of the art history department has set lofty goals for itself and its students. Your contribution and commitment will strengthen the department’s voice as we take a leading role in the formation of new generations and work toward becoming a top-ranking art history department.
