Support the School of Education’s Annual Fund and the Teacher Pledge program with one gift!

When we receive 100 gifts of any size to the annual fund during Day of the Badger, a group of donors will unlock a $10,000 gift to the Teacher Pledge. Your one gift could have twice the impact!

Annual Fund Impact

Gifts to the annual fund allow students to have highly impactful educational experiences in and out of the classroom. For example, annual fund support provided student actors and technical staff from the university with the unique opportunity to work alongside professional actors during the run of August Wilson’s play Fences. Gifts to the annual fund have also allowed the School of Education to respond to students’ greatest needs. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many students suddenly and unexpectedly had financial hardship, and the School of Education responded with more than 850 scholarships to support students completing their education.

Teacher Pledge Impact

The UW–Madison School of Education Wisconsin Teacher Pledge is a game-changing initiative designed to address the teacher shortage. Funded by donors, it covers in-state tuition and fees for students in our teacher preparation programs. In return, graduates “pledge” to teach for at least three or four years in Wisconsin.

The Teacher Pledge is already helping Wisconsin’s teacher workforce. As of the fall semester, 758 current and former students have taken the pledge, and 350 of them are now teaching in 87 school districts and 13 private schools in Wisconsin.
