The UW–Madison Department of Physics is nationally and internationally renowned based on the interlinked activities of research, teaching, and outreach. We pride ourselves on having one of the most engaged departments in the country in terms of physics outreach. Since 1984, we have welcomed more than 100,000 visitors to one of the more than 350 presentations of our annual outreach show, The Wonders of Physics. We are also proudly home to the oldest continuously operating interactive science museum in the country, the L. R. Ingersoll Physics Museum. And our new Wonders Outreach Fellows program has trained more than 20 graduate students in two years to conduct and excel at physics outreach. These important activities are funded entirely by donations.
Our goal for Day of the Badger is to raise $50,000 to enable funding of dedicated Wonders of Physics personnel for improved outreach to a broader community. Donations up to $50,000 will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to a generous donor! Please help us meet our goal by giving to the Department of Physics — every donation will help support this important program
