Give the gift of adventure and growth this Day of the Badger! Upham Woods is a residential outdoor learning center that connects people with the University of Wisconsin–Madison, offering environmental, outdoor, and recreational programs and activities for youth and adults. By donating to Upham Woods, you are supporting the Wisconsin Idea of extending the university’s resources and expertise to every family and corner of the state.
For decades, Upham Woods has been a place where connections are forged with nature, with each other, and with the University of Wisconsin–Madison. This year, we’re celebrating the legacy of Patricia Buchanan, a naturalist and teacher whose love story at Upham Woods led her to meet her husband and then bring countless students here over the course of her teaching career. Peanut Butter Mountain (PBM), our popular low-element challenge course, was created in her honor in the early 1990s. But now PBM needs our help! Stairway improvements will make this vital resource more accessible, ensuring that future generations can experience the same transformative leadership and teamwork opportunities. Your gift will honor Patricia’s memory and ensure that Upham Woods continues to inspire youth and adults alike for years to come. This effort was kickstarted by an amazingly generous $10,000 donation in memory of Patricia Buchanan.
