UW Division of Extension’s Water Action Volunteers (WAV) program supports communities across the state by providing free field trainings, water quality monitoring equipment, and expertise to build a knowledgeable network of stream monitoring volunteers across Wisconsin. WAV participants monitor 600 stream and river sites across Wisconsin each year, collecting valuable long-term water quality data that demonstrate whether a stream can support a vibrant fish community, can supply clean water to lakes and rivers downstream, and is safe and enjoyable for people to recreate on. Your gift will help us reach our goal to expand volunteer stream monitoring and education to underserved regions of the state, training new groups of passionate residents who will monitor and advocate for the quality of their local waters for many years to come. Every $400 we raise supports a volunteer monitoring a new stream site in Wisconsin!
