Alumni Seth Jacoby (B.Sc. ’97), Jerry Kohn (B.A., ’74), Stacey Bohachek (B.Sc.,’96), Doug Bohachek (B.Sc. ‘97, MBA ‘04) and an anonymous donor are excited to issue a $4,000 challenge. The first 30 gifts to the Geography department during Day of the Badger will help unlock an additional $4,000 gift toward the school’s greatest needs.

This challenge has ended.

For more than a century, UW–Madison has been home to one of the top-ranking geography departments in the nation. The strength of our department is reflected in our ability to attract top-caliber students, compete for significant research funding, and win major awards. Our Geography Club members work hard to raise funds and organize departmental events like Coffee Hour that connect students, faculty, and staff. Our External Relations Committee also organizes Open House events for the public. Unfortunately, these efforts are inadequate to reach the professional training needs of our devoted students. Your support will help our students conduct independent research, attend professional meetings, and land internships to launch their careers.
