The UW–Madison Department of Physics is nationally and internationally renowned based on the interlinked activities of research, teaching, and outreach. In addition to our research activities, which cover physics at all scales, since 1984, we have welcomed more than 100,000 visitors to one of the more than 300 presentations of our annual outreach show, The Wonders of Physics. We are also proud to be the home of the oldest continuously operating interactive science museum in the country, the Ingersoll Physics Museum. These important outreach activities are funded entirely by donations.

Day of the Badger is a day — and then some — to celebrate and support UW–Madison. It’s exactly 1848 minutes for all alumni, students, and friends throughout Badger nation to make a far-reaching impact in a short amount of time.
